Position Overview


You will join our growing and talented engineering team that is split across our London and New York offices. Our team is fun, friendly, progressive and diligent, and candidates should fit right in!  We have a very welcoming and supportive culture.

As a Data Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the infrastructure that allows us to confidently ask questions and get answers about all aspects of the business, including (but not limited to) revenue, marketing, analytics and historical customer data. We want decisions across the business to be data driven; you’ll interact with multiple departments and stakeholders, and expand what is possible to measure. You will be delivering value across the teams by helping them to optimize for growth and identify key drivers of product adoption.


Responsibilities

  • Investigate and develop pipelines for data
  • Describe and implement schemas that enable analysis of the data
  • Create compelling analysis with a grounding in statistical knowledge, reproducibly and robustly
  • Have an interest in the possibilities of data, and confidence communicating what is possible
  • Write clear and maintainable code, and collaborate with other engineers
  • Take ownership and initiative; capable of working independently
  • Have a strong appreciation for the business side, and a broader view of objectives outside the purely technical


Skills and Experience

  • Python: 2+ years of experience
  • Data tools and practices: 2+ years of experience
  • Distributed systems
  • Databases; relational and non-relational
  • Cloud infrastructure (we use AWS)
  • Unix / Linux development environment
  • Confident with Git version control and code reviews
  • Are receptive to feedback and are always looking to learn and improve
  • Strong communication skills and comfortable in collaborative environments
